Tree Lighting Celebration

This much-loved holiday tradition began in 2013 and is held every year. The entire town gathers on the front lawn of the Community House, listens to music, savors cocoa, donates food and toys for those in need, and enjoys the company of friends and family as they watch the seasonal lighting of the 25’+ Norway Spruce tree and menorah. This event is FREE, and everyone is welcome.

The Tree Lighting Celebration embodies all that the Community House stands for in that it creates memories and further bonds people and families to each other and to our town. This kind of unity is what Moorestown, and the Community House, is all about and the reason that this event was created.

It takes many volunteers and supporters to make this event one of our community’s highlights. Moorestown’s own, Kathy Orr, emcees and broadcasts the event live on Fox29 news. Historically, festivities have included:

Besides these generous supporters, we’d also like to thank the following groups for their support of this wonderful event:

The event culminates with the lighting of the tree, which was generously donated in 2013 by the Palko family in honor of their mother, Patricia Palio, who absolutely loved the holiday season. The Moorestown Jewish Association also donated a beautiful Menorah, located on the front part of the lawn, which is also lit as part of this event. The lightings typically occur around 6:15 and are followed by a drive by visit from Santa on the fire truck!
