Moorestown celebrates Back To School

Everyone in Moorestown is bustling as the 2024-2025 school year begins. New sneakers and outfits were selected, backpacks and school supplies were purchased—until the new list arrived home for the additional materials needed by tomorrow, and everyone is navigating a new route to avoid school buses and parent drop-offs.

The all-purpose room hosted many years of basketball games and tournaments, volleyball matches, dances, and team banquets. Over time, the predominantly men’s basketball leagues slowly diminished because families’ needs started to change. Household responsibility shifted to two working parents; therefore, juggling children and their activities became the priority. The reservation specialist, Joan Brown, jokingly mentioned to the long-tenured executive director, Bill Newborg, “We should turn the basketball court into a ballroom!” They laughed, then a lightbulb clicked on, and the planning began.
