One Year In: Dreaming Big and Occasionally Remembering to Send the Follow-Up Email
It’s hard to believe it’s already been a whole year since I stepped into the Executive Director role here at the Community House of Moorestown—a milestone worth celebrating! (And maybe a nap.)
Transitioning from “newcomer” to (hopefully) trusted teammate hasn’t been without its challenges. Think of it as relationship building on steroids—learning names, figuring out which key opens which mysterious door, and juggling a to-do list that seems to have sprouted its own to-do list. Spoiler alert: the list has officially entered a whole new dimension.
Some days have been smooth sailing, filled with energizing teamwork and exciting plans. Other days? Let’s say I’ve been chasing my tail trying to catch up on emails, apologizing for late replies, and desperately attempting to be consistent with the weekly newsletter—wink, wink.
I came in with big ideas and too much caffeine. One year later, the Board of Trustees, staff, and volunteers are still moving fast and dreaming bigger, plotting a fall and holiday season that will knock your socks off (so keep a spare pair handy).
A huge thank you to this incredible community for the warm welcome, the teamwork, and the trust you’ve placed in me. Here’s to building, creating, and chasing big dreams—together (powered by coffee, blind optimism, and sheer momentum).
– Pam Henshall, Executive Director
